Riverside begins the 2007-2008 with a change in the language curriculum from French to Spanish. We're pleased to be teaching another language so closely connected to our classical curriculum, one becoming more and more prevalent in contemporary American culture.
Over the course of three middle school years at Riverside students will complete a Spanish I course. Lessons stress the importance of hearing, reading, writing and speaking the language and incorporate geographical and cultural lessons as well. We use McDougal Littell's Avancemos text with supplementary materials to enhance the lessons.
