BRIDGE BUILDING COMPETITION
Participation in the Bridge Building Competition sponsored by Lyndon Institute is built into the 6th grade science curriculum. Older students can choose to partake, usually motivated by improving their previous designs. Bridges are limited to being constructed of popsicle sticks, toothpicks, dental floss and glue and are judged on Workmanship, Originality, Weight Held, and Resistance Factor and Best Overall. Two awards are given in each category.
